“After our experience in The League of Crafty Guitarists, primarily an acoustic/electric guitar ensemble, we formed Les Gauchos Allemands in the early 90's. First with only acoustic guitars (like in The League...), then we added electric guitars and many pedals. We toured extensively, sometimes with The California Guitar Trio, sometimes with Robert Fripp Soundscapes, sometimes just us and released 3 albums. Then we decided to add drums (why not?) and leave the acoustic guitars aside: in 1997 we formed Electric Gauchos. The early formations featured Martin Schwutke, Christian de Santis (now Alex Anthony Faide) and other Crafty Guitarists, with Bill Rieflin or Fernando Samalea on drums. As we keep working together within The Guitar Circle, The Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists, Tiny Orchestral Moments, lineups evolve; adding vocals and sometimes cello and keyboards: we explore, we experiment, we are open. Electric Gauchos comes from a musical tradition and keeps moving. Always moving: this seems to be an important part of our tradition. Some pieces "suggest" to be played...so we do it, and we have fun in the process. This album is a snapshot of just one live show in Argentina. We keep moving, hoping you will enjoy listening, and we are grateful for your support.” Fernando Kabusacki Buenos Aires Argentina March 17th 2024 |
