Sunday October 17th

Another extreme day of planning and meetings.   No time to rest today... and the price is that I'm going to sleep with a sore throat.   The high point of my day:  practicing again in the Redwest stairwell after 10 hours of meetings.

I missed the AAD Seattle team meeting this afternoon, which I regret.  I called Jaxie when I got home at 10 to get the scoop.   Always tradeoffs.

I would like to write more, but I need to get some sleep.

Thursday October 21st

These pages have gone quiet lately largely because my voice has gone. I've spent the majority of the past three days fighting a terrible head cold and fever which I for which I blame poor David Singleton - he was (and still is) suffering from the same cold a day before I was, and in our countless meetings this and last week, it made it's way over to me. I even missed two days of work to this nasty bug, which is a rare event for me. David is flying home to England tomorrow after a week of fruitful meetings in Seattle and LA. I suspect he will be back in Seattle again very soon. Wish I could say more about this new bubbling business.   Not quite yet ready for prime time.

I am just coming out from the worst of my illness now, but it's late and I am still facing packing for the road trip to Cle Elem tomorrow evening with the SGC. After a final biz meeting with David, I drove downtown this evening to pick up the PA from the rehearsal space, and was privileged to be able to hear two of the songs from Peter Kardas, Curt Golden, and Peter's new band rehearsing for a show next week. What I heard, sounded great. Hope I can make their show next week. Given my ultra-full plate, I would not bet on it right now.

While I was picking up gear, I also ran into Brock Pytel who was coming down to practice drums, so we finally connected in person after about two weeks of phone tag -- we finally connected about SGC Vancouver plans; more as this evolves.

Dean Jensen called me earlier today - he is also sick.  He blames me for this... even though I have not seen him in person for over a week, well before I had this cold.  Between our various sicknesses, and my need to pick up the PA downtown, our previously scheduled SGC rehearsal was cancelled this evening.   Even so, the day is hardly over.

At 11:16pm, I still owe Bill Rieflin a phone call. I don't have the energy, but I will do it since it's probably my last chance to check in with him before I blast off across the mountains tomorrow evening, and I have one minor loose end to tie up before blasting off.

My diary goes analog for the weekend. I'll translate any potentially interesting bits from the weekend to ascii early next week.

Until then, those tuning in or those in tune may wish the SGC well on Saturday evening at 7pm PST as we debut centerstage in Cle Elem.
